26th November 2015
I am loving Thursday nights at the moment. 3 years ago I stumbled across a Bernard Cornwell book while staying in St Ives called "Death of Kings" all about a Nothumbrian Saxon-Dane and his quest to return to Bamburgh. All set against a historical backdrop of King Alfred and Viking invasions. It turned out to be part of a nine book saga - so I began reading at the beginning. I was hooked. The seventh book came out recently which I've nearly finished. Best of all though the BBC have made The Last Kingdom dramatising the early years. Its brilliant and for the first time on years a must sit and watch event on TV at 9pm on a Thursday.
