24th December 2015
The magnificent Durham Cathedral at dusk. When in the North East for Christmas if its possible to attend the 9 lessons and carols at my 'home' place of worship I will do so. Born less than 20 miles from this fortress church it was ever present in my childhood. School visits, family trips and during Advent a number of services. Being in Durham anyway and noticing the service was on found Julie and I enveloped ourselves in the atmosphere of The Galillee Chapel holding Bede's tomb. How many millions have trod this way in the last 1000 years? A special place to be as the sun sets on the eve of Christmas.
